Quiet mastery meets modern craftsmanship.

Crafted in collaboration with renowned chef Sachie Nomura, the Ironclad Takumi Wok Set blends timeless tradition with contemporary precision. “Takumi” – meaning artisan or master craftsman in Japanese – reflects the philosophy behind this exceptional piece: quiet mastery, patient craftsmanship, and enduring quality.

Each 30 cm wok begins its life as premium cast iron, individually hand-poured, cooled, and meticulously polished to create a naturally non-stick finish – completely free from synthetic coatings and forever chemicals like PFAS, PFOA, and PTFE. This is cookware built with integrity and designed to last.

Compatible with every heat source – including induction, gas, electric, ceramic, BBQ, oven, pizza oven, and even campfire – the Takumi Wok is a versatile kitchen essential. Balanced and beautifully weighted, it delivers performance with precision, whether you’re flash-frying vegetables or slow-simmering sauces.

The Takumi Wok Set is more than cookware – it’s a tribute to craftsmanship:

  • A carbonised bamboo lid, handmade in New Zealand by skilled instrument makers, doubles as a chopping board, trivet, or elegant serving board.
  • A pair of handmade beechwood cooking chopsticks elevates your culinary experience with traditional form and feel.
  • Each set is numbered and signed, reflecting its unique place in a legacy of artisan work.

And with Ironclad’s Three Generation Guarantee®, your wok is covered for 100 years of daily use – whether indoors or out. Should your wok ever warp, crack, or fail structurally, Ironclad will replace it.

Complete your experience with the Ironclad Vault®, a secure digital space to preserve your warranty, treasured family recipes, and kitchen memories – a time capsule for generations to come.

The Ironclad Pan Company was founded in 2016 by Kate Slavin, Levi Slavin and Joe Carter. All three were working in design, branding and communications, and all three were looking to create a sustainable product that would be a return to beautiful craft and traditional techniques. In an era of disposable products, the team wanted to create a meaningful object that people only had to buy once. Something precious, that could be handed down for generations.
