Grandma’s Hands are Ironclad’s new range of New Zealand made oven-mitts. Designed by Ironclad and hand-made by some of our friends in Wellington, Grandma’s Hands are 100% cotton and made to last. The cotton lining used is a natural unbleached and undyed Cotton Duck. Duck fabric is made by weaving with two yarns together in the warp and a single yarn in the weft. It’s a great material as it’s very comfy, long-lasting, and durable. Inside, the thick quilt lining makes them well insulated and soft to wear.
On the outside, there is two fabric options.
Bull Denim is 100% cotton and is constructed with a 3×1 twill, creating a soft durable material that will hold up to everyday use.
Black Cotton Drill is 100% cotton and is a stout durable fabric with a strong bias (diagonal) in the weave.
Grandma’s Hands are hand-made in small runs right here in New Zealand. So if you miss out this release, don’t worry. Just let us know you’d like one and we’ll get sewing!
