Introducing Stagg EKG Pro, a game-changing evolution to Fellow’s signature pour-over kettle

Fellow took what they do best and made it better! With fully customisable brew settings, precision temperature and pouring control, and access to powerful updates over Wi-Fi, it’s time to go Pro.

The Stagg EKG is Fellow’s electric pour over kettle designed for coffee-lovers. With variable temperature control, and a stunning minimalist design, the Stagg EKG is the ultimate pour over kettle.

By simply turning the knob on the EKG base, you can select your desired temperature ranging from 40-100 degrees Celsius. The selected temperature is displayed on the small LCD screen on the base, and will show the real time temperature as the water is heating up. When the toggle on the back of the base is switched to HOLD mode, the Stagg EKG will maintain your desired temperature for 1 hour. When the toggle is not in HOLD mode, the kettle will go to sleep after reaching the desired temperature. The Stagg EKG also features a built-in brew stopwatch to time your extraction after your water is heated.

LCD Screen

Mornings are blurry enough. See clearly and colourfully with an elevated LCD display.

To-The-Degree Temperature Control

Precisely heats and maintains your water exactly to-the-degree in Fahrenheit and to-the-half degree in Celsius. No more guessing degrees or “about” boiling.

Quick Heat Time

A blazing fast boil, powered by a 1200 watt heating element means even less time spent waiting in pursuit of the perfect cup.

Customisable Brewing

Use the high-resolution full-colour screen to access a stacked menu of features to perfect your brew.

  • Schedule: Set your kettle to reach a specific temperature at a specific time.
  • Guide Mode: Not sure where to begin? Pick a preset temperature for different coffee brewing styles and types of tea.
  • Altitude: Prevent boiling over by setting the altitude for your location.
  • Adjustable Hold Mode: Keep your water hot for 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes.
  • Brew Stopwatch: After your water is heated, use the built-in Brew Stopwatch to time your pour-over or tea recipe
  • Chime + volume control: Hear when your water is ready. Turn it on or off and decide how loud.
  • Units: Pick Fahrenheit or Celsius.
  • Pre-Boil: Boil at max temperature to sanitize before dropping to your target temperature.
  • Language: Choose English, French, and Spanish.
  • Clock: Go analogue or digital.
  • Wi-Fi: Get the latest firmware through Wi-Fi updates using the Fellow Updater app*. This kettle never stops improving.

Not only does the Stagg EKG Pro have all the customisable bells & whistles, but it also has a stunning, practical and minimalist design. Featuring a precision pour spout, a counter-balanced handle and a small, compact base, this kettles’ aesthetics and construction is as well-thought out as it’s clever programming features.

Cleaning your kettle

We highly recommend cleaning your kettle at least once a month to maintain its performance properly. Here are some steps for effective cleaning of your electric kettle:

  • Prior to cleaning, be sure the kettle has cooled completely. Empty any remaining water from the kettle.
  • Wash the inside of the kettle with soapy water and rinse. Never submerge the kettle in water or other liquids.
  • Wipe the exterior of the kettle and base with a damp cloth or sponge and allow it to dry. Do not use abrasive soaps, cleansers, or scouring pads on any part of the kettle as it may damage the finish.
  • Do not place it in a dishwasher. Neither base nor kettle is dishwasher safe and both include electrical components that could become damaged.

Descaling your kettle

If you notice stains on the bottom of your kettle’s interior that resemble water spots or rust, this is likely a harmless and common buildup of minerals called limescale. Limescale is composed primarily of calcium carbonate, and can present itself as light-coloured stains, typically white or off-white in colour.

Limescale or mineral deposits are a direct result of heating up water and thus inevitable in all kettles. How long it takes for mineral deposits to show up will depend on the mineral concentration in your water source. Symptoms of scale build-up can include lagging temperature readout response, over-boiling, inaccurate temperatures, and poor heating efficiency; if you notice any of these issues with your kettle, scale build-up is the likely culprit.

You can remove the mineral deposits through a process called descaling, where a gentle acid is used to remove the deposits without damaging the metal. You can use vinegar or citric acid to descale. Both are safe and effective cleaning solutions; however, citric acid is a bit stronger and doesn’t leave a lingering scent like vinegar may leave. If you prefer to buy a ready-made solution, we recommend descaling with Urnez Dezcal, which you can buy from Amazon and many other retail locations.

Descaling instructions:

If you use vinegar, heat a solution of half vinegar and half water in your kettle. Bring the mixture to a boil and let it sit for at least a half-hour before dumping it out and rinsing the kettle thoroughly.
If you use citric acid, heat a solution of 500mL of water and 2 spoonfuls of citric acid. Bring the mixture to a boil and let it sit for at least a half-hour before dumping it out and rinsing the kettle thoroughly. For more information, please read the instructions on the product.
Note: Scrubbing the bottom of your kettle with steel wool or an abrasive brush will damage the inner surface of the kettle, ultimately leading to worse limescale and could also result in the development of rust. Please use a sponge or soft brush to clean the inside of your kettle.

What does the Fellow Updater app do, and why do I need it?

Although it’s not needed to use the product, we will occasionally provide updates to the firmware in your Stagg EKG Pro / Corvo EKG Pro or Pro Studio Edition to ensure everything is running optimally and that your kettle has the latest firmware. Choosing not to use the app will not diminish the usefulness of your kettle, as the updates are not needed for the Pro or Pro Studio Edition to work.

Please note: you aren’t able to control your kettle or its settings via the Fellow Updater app at this time. The app is also not compatible with Stagg EKG+ kettles.

Is my Fellow electric kettle stovetop safe?

No. Please do not use your electric kettle on your stovetop! The kettle is designed for use with its electric base ONLY. By putting the kettle on your stovetop or induction surface, you risk melting functional parts in the kettle and paint.

If you’re looking for a pour-over kettle that’s stovetop safe, please check out our stovetop kettles.

Please note, the stovetop version is not for use on induction stoves.
