Brikka Induction by Bialetti brings the unmistakable pleasure of real espresso coffee to your induction hob

Bialetti’s Brikka features a specially designed valve that produces a coffee shot (30ml) with a concentration almost twice that of the Bialetti Moka Express—exclusive Bialetti patented safety valve, inspectable and easy to clean.

Brikka Induction is a unique coffee maker that allows you to prepare a coffee exactly like one from a coffee bar: creamy, intense and full-bodied. To ensure maximum creaminess, fill the boiler up to the mark indicated inside and continue as you have always been used to. In just a few minutes, Bialetti Brikka Induction, with its unique, patented system, will prepare a creamy sugar-ready coffee: add in a teaspoon, and you will see it settle on the crema and then slowly slide to the bottom, ready to add a sweet touch to your break.

The base bi-layer construction of a stainless steel outer and aluminium inner allows perfect heat distribution from all stovetops, including induction.

Features:

  • Suitable for all stovetops, including induction.
  • Must not be placed in the dishwasher
  • Made with a bi-layer stainless steel and aluminium base
  • Includes a sturdy stay, cool nylon handle and knob
  • Bialetti’s patented safety valve.

How to Make a Stovetop Espresso
1. Fill heater with cold water by using the graduated measuring cup supplied.
2. Insert the funnel filter into the heater.
3. Fill the funnel filter with ground coffee for Moka, without pressing it down, taking care not to leave coffee powder on the rim of the coffee maker.
4. Screw the upper part on the heater and tighten well, without pressing too much and avoiding to force the handle.
5. Put the coffee maker on the heat source. In case of flame, prevent it from going beyond the rim of the coffee unit. In case of induction/electric/ceramic glass plate, do not use the highest heat.
6. In few minutes a small amount of coffee will start coming out and the typical puff of Brikka, signalling the beginning of froth formation, will be heard.
7. After few seconds, make sure froth formation has been completed inside the upper part.
8. Pour coffee into the cups, evenly distributing the coffee and froth.

Use & Care

  • A medium-fine grind is recommended. Medium-fine will feel gritty when rubbed between your fingers, not powdery.  Note that an espresso grind purchased from a store for electric espresso machines is typically too fine and may block your Bialetti). Do NOT tamp coffee down. If you have used a fine, powdery espresso grind, get yourself a pipe cleaner, take out the ring and filter and give the upper spout a good clean from the underneath side.
  • Troubleshooting: If the water is coming through the joint, proceed with cleaning the percolator column out first.
  • Detergent is not recommended when washing the aluminium models as it can taint the aluminium and therefore the coffee.
  • A mild detergent can be used to clean the stainless steel models and a liquid chrome polish can be used to keep the stainless steel looking new.
  • Periodically clean the inner sides of the percolator column in the top part of the pot, ensuring no build-up of coffee residues. This build-up can lead to reduced pressure and may affect the final taste profile of your coffee.
  • Do not reassemble until all parts are completely dry to avoid oxidation
  • Bialetti stovetop espresso makers must not be put in the dishwasher.
  •  It’s best to store all parts separately to allow air to circulate and dry parts before reassembling.
  • Care: Handwash in warm water and dry thoroughly
